Today's Snapshot
- Stablecoins hit $135 billion in cross-border payments
- White House to host Coinbase, Ripple and Wall Street executives as CLARITY Act reaches Senate floor
- Nigeria's central bank opens regulatory sandbox for digital assets
Stablecoins are making waves in cross-border payments. The White House is about to host some of the biggest crypto players and Nigeria just opened up a regulatory sandbox for digital assets. Let's get into it:
Stablecoins hit $135 billion in cross-border payments
The news
FXC Intelligence, using Allium blockchain data, shows stablecoins processed $135 billion in non-wholesale cross-border payments in 2025. That's a 65% jump from $82 billion in 2024.
This $135 billion is only 0.31% of the $44 trillion total cross-border market.
Business-to-business transactions made up 79% of traditional-currency flows. Consumer-to-consumer transfers hit 15% of stablecoin volume, much higher than fiat's 5%.
IMF First Deputy Managing Director Dan Katz said local-currency stablecoins could help speed up dollar stablecoin adoption on shared blockchains.
The total stablecoin market cap stands at $300 billion. Cross-border stablecoin volume reached $6.1 trillion.
What's next?
Stablecoin volumes keep climbing. The need for strong settlement rails is growing and that could push more blockchain adoption.
The Takeaway
BSV is purpose-built for the settlement rails that stablecoin growth demands.
With its unbounded scale and low fees, BSV can handle rising stablecoin transaction volumes. It's a strong candidate for a public blockchain that doesn't need Layer 2 solutions.
White House to host Coinbase, Ripple and Wall Street executives as CLARITY Act reaches Senate floor
The news
The Trump administration will hold a major crypto policy meeting on Wednesday, August 19, at 2:30 PM ET in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
President Trump plans to attend, along with SEC Chair Paul Atkins and CFTC Chair Michael Selig. Executives from Coinbase, Ripple, Polymarket, Gemini, a16z, Chainlink, Nasdaq, NYSE, CME Group and DTCC are on the guest list.
The Wyoming Blockchain Symposium runs from August 17-20, drawing about 500 investors and policymakers.
The CLARITY Act, which targets clearer crypto rules, goes to the Senate floor in September. It needs 60 votes to pass.
What's next?
If the CLARITY Act passes, institutional players could finally build openly on public blockchains. That might drive a wave of adoption.
The Takeaway
Regulatory clarity is the single biggest accelerant for enterprise BSV adoption.
Once rules are clear, institutions can build on BSV with confidence. The fixed protocol and data-capable script make BSV a natural fit for enterprise applications.
Nigeria's central bank opens regulatory sandbox for digital assets
The news
The Central Bank of Nigeria just launched a two-track Regulatory Sandbox Programme.
Track 1 focuses on Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) like stablecoins, payments, custody and wallet solutions. Track 2 covers Data-Enabled Financial Services, including financial inclusion, credit and risk management.
Applications opened August 12. The deadline is August 31, 2026.
Acting director of Corporate Communications Hakama Sidi Ali announced the program. The goal is to boost digital asset and financial service innovation in Nigeria.
What's next?
As applications come in, this sandbox will test new digital asset solutions. It could pave the way for broader adoption.
The Takeaway
Nigeria's sandbox is exactly the proving ground BSV was built for.
BSV handles high-volume, low-value payments at micro-transaction fees. It's a scalable choice for Nigeria's financial ecosystem, with no congestion or fee spikes.
What to Watch
- BSV's enterprise adoption might jump if the CLARITY Act goes through. This could finally give institutions the regulatory clarity they've been waiting for.
- Nigeria's sandbox results could show off BSV's strength in big, low-fee transactions. If this works, BSV might prove itself in emerging markets.
Stay tuned for more updates!
