Stablecoins Clear $4.5 Trillion in Q1 as the CLARITY Act Advances Out of Committee

The news: Stablecoins ran up $4.5 trillion in global transactions during Q1 2026. Asia made up almost two-thirds of that. Consumer-to-business transactions jumped 128% to 284.6 million.

By April 2026, total stablecoin supply hit $320 billion. TRON alone handled $2 trillion in USDT transfers. Meanwhile, the U.S. Senate Banking Committee pushed the CLARITY Act forward on a 15-9 vote, moving federal stablecoin regulation to the Senate floor.

The bill covers reserve requirements, yield-bearing features and that tricky security vs. commodity question.

More on this: The CLARITY Act would create a federal compliance framework for regulated stablecoin issuers. The yield-bearing piece is the most hotly debated part. If it survives, U.S. issuers could offer interest to holders. That would affect how competitive any BSV-settled stablecoin could be when compared to Ethereum-based options.

KRWQ, launched under Korean regulation, already shows what a regulated BSV-settled stablecoin can look like in the real world.

What's next? The Senate floor vote is up next. Whether yield provisions make it through will probably decide how stablecoin issuers pick their on-chain infrastructure.

The Takeaway

The compliance layer is the missing piece for BSV enterprise adoption, and the CLARITY Act is the most direct legislative path to filling it.

That $4.5 trillion Q1 volume isn't just a number. It's real demand for settlement infrastructure that actually scales. BSV's Chronicle upgrade ditched script constraints and, with its unbounded block capacity and sub-cent fees, it stands out as one of the few networks that could handle stablecoin settlement at that level.

But let's be honest. Technical ability without regulatory clarity is a dead end for U.S. businesses. Any U.S. company thinking about BSV for stablecoin settlement, data provenance or micropayment rails is staring down legal uncertainty about token classification.

If the CLARITY Act passes with its stablecoin definitions intact, that removes the biggest compliance roadblock for deployment. The KRWQ example shows what's possible under proper regulation. The Senate vote will reveal if the U.S. is ready to follow that path.

GorillaPool Opens Teranode Mining to the Public

The news: GorillaPool just opened public access to Teranode, BSV's next-gen node architecture built for millions of transactions per second. GorillaPool mined the first Teranode block back in December 2025.

Now, they've moved from internal testing to letting the public join in. Independent miners can contribute hash power directly to the Teranode network.

More on this: Teranode is modular and distributed. It splits block validation, mempool management and P2P networking into separate services that scale horizontally. Unlike a big, clunky node, it can run on everything from a Raspberry Pi to a full-blown Kubernetes cluster in AWS.

That flexibility matters. It makes it easier for more miners to join and pushes up the network's processing ceiling. The Chronicle upgrade got rid of script constraints. Teranode removes throughput limits. Together, they make BSV's scaling claim real, not just theoretical.

What's next? The adoption rate among public miners is now the metric to watch. We'll see how fast independent miners join GorillaPool and start adding hash power. That's the real sign of how quickly the network embraces Teranode.

The Takeaway

Teranode moving to public access is not a product launch - it is a phase change in what BSV can do at the network level.

For years, BSV's scaling story depended on protocol-level changes: raising the block cap, removing script limits, getting Chronicle live. Those were all necessary, but they were upstream.

Teranode is where those choices hit the ground. Its architecture scales horizontally across both cheap hardware and enterprise setups, so throughput no longer relies on any single miner's gear. Public miner access speeds up the shift by spreading both hash power and know-how across the network.

With Chronicle and Teranode together, BSV can finally answer the enterprise question: can this handle our volume? It's not just a promise anymore.

What Else We're Watching

What to Watch

  • Block 949,735 closed with 62,544 transactions in 13.16 MB, mined by CUVVE
  • The Taal family held 50% of early-session blocks, with taal.com_Teranode contributing hash power alongside classic SV Node software
  • The CLARITY Act's unresolved state versus federal preemption question is worth watching closely

Steady volume, live Teranode hash power and a Senate vote to watch. See you tomorrow.
